About Dr. McCladdie
Henry McCladdie joined the DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment Charter School in 2009 and is currently Dean of Students. As a member of the Administration Team, he is involved in all aspects of school leadership, with a focus on school safety, discipline, and attendance.
Henry McCladdie is a native of Augusta, GA. He graduated from Morehouse College, where he earned a BA in Health and Physical Education. He has also earned a Master of Physical Education from Auburn University. As an undergraduate at Morehouse College, McCladdie was a four-year starter and two-time captain for the Morehouse Tigers baseball team. McCladdie was also chosen to be a part of the 2008 SIAC first team and was the 2009 SIAC second team selection. Currently, he is in his third year of the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at Clark Atlanta University (CAU), with an expected graduation date in 2016. At CAU, he is the President of Educational Leadership Student Association. Lastly, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Atlanta Metropolitan College, where he had the opportunity to get hands-on experience in complying institutional standards with designated curriculum.
Prior to joining D.A.T.E. administration, McCladdie served as the Athletic Director, as well as a Health and Physical Education Teacher. As Athletic Director, he was responsible for the oversight of all eight athletics teams and compliance regulations. Also, in the capacity of the Health and Physical Education Teacher, he was the Assistant Coach in football and basketball. In addition, he created a student-teacher mentoring group, which helped underachieving students along their path to becoming thoughtful, engaged, and self-aware citizens, who are fully able to make quality choices.
